e-mail FAQ

How do I access my SpeedSpan email through a web browser?

1.

SpeedSpan customers (dialup, ZoomTown, and webhosting) can access email over any web browser connected to the internet. We call it "webmail" (just like everybody else) in many places. On the other hand, the banner on our Home page where you log in to webmail says "spanmail" because that's the general name for our email service. And it's understood that if you're logging in on a web page, it's going to be webmail.

On your primary computer, you should probably access your email from a web client such as Outlook (Outlook Express, Entourage), or Eudora, or Netscape. Consult our other FAQ for information on how to set these programs up. However, using webmail is very convenient while you are traveling or otherwise away from your primary computer. Since you can almost always find a way to access the world wide web with a browser wherever you are, you can check your email.

With our new design, you can access the webmail login right from our from home page. Simply point your browser to www.speedspan.com, and in the lower left corner is the webmail login. It's as easy as that!

Note: Our webmail interface includes several templates you can choose from. Currently, the "Smooth" templates will not work on Netscape or Safari. If you have a problem because a template is incompatible with your browser, you should be returned to a different login screen (http://webmail2.spanmail.net/) that will let you pick a new template after you enter your login information and before you click the Login button. and pick a new template after you enter your login information and before you click the Login button.

Finally, there is a login on a secure web page(Secure webmail login) that we recommend you use when you're in a public place, particularly when using a wireless connection.
