  How do I connect using the Windows XP Wizard?  
 
 
1. Click on "Start" at bottom left of screen. Locate "Control Panel" (usually, middle right of the menu), then move your mouse to it and click.
2. In the Window that opens, double click on "Network Connections" then double click on "New Connection Wizard" .
3. Click Next.
4. Make sure "Connect to the Internet" is selected and click Next.
5. Select "Set up my connection manually" and click Next.
6. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem" and click Next.
7. Type "SpeedSpan" for the ISP Name and click Next.
8. Type "859-547-1415" for the Phone Number (if you have call waiting, type "*70,859-547-1415".) and click Next. ("Star 70" defeats call waiting for the duration of the call.)
9. Type your User name (all lower case, and do NOT include "@spsp.net") and password (twice). Check the 2 boxes at the botom and click Next.
6. Check "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" and click Finish.
6. Any time you want to get to the internet make sure your computer is connected to your phone line, and:
6a. Locate the "SpeedSpan" icon on your desktop and double click on it and click the Dial button.
6b. Alternatively, right-click the SpeedSpan icon and select "Connect".
7. Your modem should dial and get you connected. If you can open Internet Explorer and go to http://www.speedspan.com (for example), you are connected. (That's a good site..... add it to your Favorites.
